K2 To Make Bleach At A Dow Site

K2 Pure Solutions planned a $100 million project to build and operate a bleach plant at Dow Chemical’s Pittsburg, California site, aimed at serving municipal water treatment customers in Northern California. A second plant would produce chlorine and caustic soda for Dow via pipeline. With a total capacity of 460 million pounds of chlor-alkali products annually, initial bleach production was expected in late 2010. The initiative aligned with K2’s mission to eliminate chlorine transport for water purification.
